– Wondrous Place
Benson Signs provide signage package for Museum of Liverpool
‘Wondrous Place Gallery’
Benson Signs have supplied signage to all seven Merseyside based museums spanning a period of over 30 years but it was particularly satisfying to have won this contract at
The Museum of Liverpool due to the company’s connection with the City, having been based here for over 50 years.
We previously manufactured the signage for The Maritime Museum gallery –
‘Life on Board’ in 2020 so were well aware of the high standards and tight deadlines that would need to be met.
The updated gallery named
‘Wondrous Place’ would celebrate the City’s heritage and success stories focusing on it’s home-grown entertainers, musicians, actors, sporting legends, writers, poets, visual artists and comedians.
We manufactured over 600 items including wallpapers, digitally printed and laminated vinyl prints applied to foam boards. Direct prints to various materials, flags, flip-books and a built up shaped rim & return map logo with reverse applied print to a polycarbonate face panel.
The items were split into three phases as we worked in conjunction with the shopfitting team on site. Our own team at Benson Signs were working 7 days a week as we neared completion to make the deadline for opening to the public on November 26th 2021.
At the entrance to the gallery on the 2nd floor of the museum are a set of built up letters surrounded by 108 famous Merseyside born legends depicted on 3 dimensional boxes and in our biased opinion is the showstopper as you enter into this fantastic display celebrating The Wondrous Place that is Liverpool.
